Takhrij Hadith 1060: "That Uthman may Allah be…"

That Uthman may Allah be pleased with him looked down from his house when he was besieged and said 'I adjure you by Allah, and I do not adjure anyone except the Companions of the Prophet peace be upon him ,do you not know that the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him said 'Whoever digs the well of Ruma, for him is Paradise,' so I dug it? Do you not know that he said: 'Whoever equips the army al-Usrah, for him is Paradise,' so I equipped them?" They testified that he had indeed said so.
