Hadith 111
Language:

Takhrij Hadith 111: "A man from Banu ‘Udhrah…"

Jaber narrated:

“
A man from Banu ‘Udhrah stated that a slave of his was to be free after he died. News of this reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: “Do you have any wealth other than him?”.The man replied: “No.” The Prophet ﷺ then said: “Who will buy him from me?”. So Nu‘aym ibn ‘Abdullah al-‘Adawi bought him for eight hundred dirhams. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took the money and gave it to the man, then said: “Start with yourself and give charity to it (i.e., spend on yourself). If anything remains, then for your family. If anything remains after your family, then for your relatives. And if anything remains after your relatives, then (give it) like this and like this,” gesturing in front of him, to his right, and to his left.
