Takhrij Hadith 1266: "While I was asleep, two…"
Abu Umamah Al-Bahili narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:
“
While I was asleep, two men came to me, took hold of my upper arms, and brought me to a steep mountain. They said to me: 'Climb.' When I reached the summit of the mountain, I heard a dreadful noise, so I asked: 'What are these voices?' They replied: 'This is the howling of the people of Hell.' Then they took me on, and I saw people suspended by their Achilles tendons, with the corners of their mouths torn open and blood flowing from them. I asked: 'Who are these?' I was told: 'These are the ones who break their fast before the lawful time to end their fast.' Then they took me on, and I saw people who were the most severely swollen, the foulest in odor, and the most hideous in appearance. I asked: 'Who are these?' I was told: 'These are the men and women who committed adultery.' Then they took me on, and I saw women whose breasts were being bitten by snakes. I asked: 'What is the matter with these women?' I was told: 'These are the women who withheld their breast milk from their children.' Then they took me on, and I saw young children playing between two rivers. I asked: 'Who are these?' I was told: 'These are the children of the believers.' Then they took me up to a high place, where I saw three men drinking from a drink prepared for them. I asked: 'Who are these?' They replied: 'These are Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa, and they are waiting for you.'"”
