Takhrij Hadith 1294: "Indeed, Khalid ibn al-Walid wrote…"

On the authority of Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, Safwan ibn Sulaym, and Musa ibn ‘Uqbah:

“
Indeed, Khalid ibn al-Walid wrote to Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah have mercy upon them both, saying that he had found in one of the outlying regions of Arabia a man who was being sexually approached as a woman is sexually approached, and evidence had been established against him concerning this. Abu Bakr consulted the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the matter, and the strongest opinion among them was that of ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him. He said: “Indeed, this is a sin that no nation had committed except one nation, and Allah, Exalted is He, dealt with them as you have learned. I am of the opinion that we should burn him with fire.” So Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, wrote to Khalid ibn al-Walid, ordering him to burn him with fire.
