He came to the Prophet ﷺ wearing two garmens from Yemin. He [the Prophet ﷺ] said to him: “O Damrah, do you think these two garments of yours will admit you into Paradise?” He replied: “If you seek forgiveness for me, O Messenger of Allah, I will not remain seated until I remove them”. He said: “O Allah, forgive Damrah ibn Tha’labah”. So he went quickly until he removed them.
