Takhrij Hadith 1303: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ…"
On the authority of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, who said:
“
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ regularly performed four rak'ahs when the sun passed its zenith. He said: So I asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, what are these rak'ahs that I see you regularly performing?.' He said: 'Indeed, the gates of the heavens are opened when the sun passes its zenith, and they are not closed until the Zuhr prayer is offered, so I love that a good deed of mine should ascend to heaven during that time.' He said: I asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, do you recite the Quran in all four of them?.' He said: 'Yes.' He said: I asked: 'Is there a separating tasleem between them?.' He said: 'No.'"”
