Takhrij Hadith 1343: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ…"

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave me a thick Egyptian garment (Qubtiyyah) from among those presented to him as a gift by Dihyah al-Kalbi, so I gave it to my wife to wear. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: “Why are you not wearing the Egyptian garment?” I said: “O Messenger of Allah, I gave it to my wife to wear.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said to me: “Tell her to wear an undergarment beneath it, for I fear it may outline the size of her body.”
