Takhrij Hadith 1380: "When Pharaoh was drowning, he…"
It was narrated from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said:
“
When Pharaoh was drowning, he called out seventy times, saying: “Save me, O Moses!” But Moses, peace be upon him, did not save him. Then Allah, Glorious and Exalted is He, revealed to Moses: “O Moses, Pharaoh called upon you for help seventy times, yet you did not help him. By My Might and Majesty, had he called upon Me just once, he would have found Me near and responsive.” Moses, peace be upon him, then said: “If Your gentleness and mercy extended to Pharaoh, who said: ‘I am your lord, the most high’ then how will Your gentleness and mercy be toward the one who prostrates and says: ‘Glory be to You, my Lord, the Most High?’””
