We were with the Prophet ﷺ when he said: “Do you know which handhold of faith is most firm?” We replied: “Prayer” He said: “Prayer is a good deed, but it is not that”. We then said: “Fasting” and he gave the same response, continuing in this way until we mentioned Jihad, to which he again gave the same reply. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The firmest handhold of faith is love for the sake of Allah and hatred for the sake of Allah”.
