Takhrij Hadith 1620: "The daughter of my maternal…"

The daughter of my maternal brother, Abdullah ibn al-Tufayl, entered upon me adorned with jewelry and beautification. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered and turned away from her. Aishah said: She is the daughter of my brother and a young girl. He said: When a woman reaches maturity, it is not permissible for her to show anything except her face and what is below this. Then he grasped his own forearm, leaving between his grip and the palm a space about the width of another handspan.
