Takhrij Hadith 1642: "Whoever sees a person afflicted…"
It was narrated from Umar that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“
Whoever sees a person afflicted with a trial and says: “All praise is due to Allah, Who has granted me well-being from that with which He has afflicted you, and has favored me greatly over many of those whom He has created,” will be protected from that affliction, whatever it may be, for as long as he lives.”
