Takhrij Hadith 1654: "I complained to the Messenger…"
It was narrated from Zaid ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
“
I complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about sleeplessness that had afflicted me, so he said: Say: O Allah, the stars have set, the eyes have become still, and You are the Ever-Living, the Sustainer. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes You. O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, calm my night and put my eyes to sleep. So I said it, and Allah, the Almighty, removed from me what I had been feeling.”
