Takhrij Hadith 1663: "There is no ʿadwā (contagion…"
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“
There is no ʿadwā (contagion acting independently by itself), no hāmah (superstitious belief concerning owls), and no Ṣafar (superstition concerning the month of Ṣafar). The owner of sick animals should not bring them to the owner of healthy animals, and the owner of healthy animals may go wherever he wishes. They said: Why is that, O Messenger of Allah? He said: It is a harm.”
