Takhrij Hadith 1681: "Allah will bring the servant…"
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that he said:
“
Allah will bring the servant near on the Day of Resurrection and place His sheltering cover over him, concealing him by His protection and mercy from all creation. He will then hand him his record while he remains concealed and say: Read your record, O son of Adam. He will come across a good deed, and his face will brighten and his heart will rejoice because of it. Allah (Mighty and Majestic) will say to him: Do you recognize this, My servant? He will say: Yes, my Lord, I recognize it. Allah will say: I have accepted it from you. He will then fall down in prostration to Allah. Allah will say: Raise your head, O son of Adam, and continue reading your record. He will then come across an evil deed, and his face will darken and his heart will tremble with fear because of it. Allah (Mighty and Majestic) will say: Do you recognize this, My servant? He will say: Yes, my Lord, I recognize it. Allah will say: I have forgiven it for you. Thus, whenever a good deed is accepted, he will prostrate, and whenever an evil deed is forgiven, he will prostrate. The creation will see nothing from him except his prostration, until they call out to one another: Blessed is this servant; he never disobeyed Allah at all. Yet they will not know what he encountered privately between himself and Allah when Allah confronted him with his deeds.”
