Takhrij Hadith 1689: "When one of you is…"
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“
When one of you is in the mosque, Satan comes to him and gently entices him, just as a man coaxes his mount. Then, once he gives in to him, Satan tightens his restraint or puts a bridle on him. Abu Hurairah said: You can see this: as for the one whose restraint has been tightened, you see him leaning like this, not remembering Allah; and as for the one who has been bridled, he has his mouth open, not remembering Allah (Mighty and Majestic).”
