It was narrated from Abdullah ibn Masud that he said:

“

There were three practices which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to observe, but the people abandoned them. One of them was giving the Salam in the funeral prayer in the same manner as giving the Salam in prayer.

”
