Takhrij Hadith 1703: "Whoever protects a believer from…"
It was narrated from Muadh ibn Anas, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said:
“
Whoever protects a believer from a hypocrite—I think he said—Allah will send an angel to protect his flesh on the Day of Resurrection from the Fire of Hell. And whoever accuses a Muslim of something intending thereby to disgrace him, Allah will detain him upon the Bridge over Hell until he is freed from the consequences of what he said.”
