Takhrij Hadith 1705: "The Messenger of Allah (peace…"
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said:
“
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Fajr prayer, then turned toward the people and said: While a man was driving a cow, he mounted it and struck it, whereupon it said: We were not created for this; we were created only for plowing. The people said: Glory be to Allah! A cow speaking! He said: Indeed, I believe in this, and so do Abu Bakr and Umar, though they were not present. And while a man was among his sheep, a wolf attacked and carried off one of them. The man pursued it until it was as though he had rescued it from the wolf. The wolf said to him: You have rescued it from me today, but who will look after it on the day of the beasts, when it will have no shepherd other than me? The people said: Glory be to Allah! A wolf speaking! He said: Indeed, I believe in this, and so do Abu Bakr and Umar, though they were not present.”
