Takhrij Hadith 1757: "Abdullah ibn Umar came to…"
It was narrated from Nafi that he said:
“
Abdullah ibn Umar came to Abdullah ibn Muti when the events of Al-Harrah took place during the time of Yazid ibn Muawiyah. He said: Put down a cushion for Abu Abd al-Rahman. Ibn Umar said: I did not come to you to sit down; I came to narrate to you a Hadith which I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever withdraws his hand from obedience will meet Allah on the Day of Resurrection with no proof in his favor, and whoever dies without a pledge of allegiance upon his neck dies a death of Jahiliyyah (the pre-Islamic state of ignorance).”
