Takhrij Hadith 1799: "ʿAbdullah ibn Masʿud (may Allah…"

ʿAbdullah ibn Masʿud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to gather a tooth-stick from the arak tree. He had very thin legs, and the wind would cause him to sway. Some people laughed at him, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “What are you laughing at?” They said: “O Prophet of Allah, because of the thinness of his legs.” He said: ‘By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, his two legs will be heavier on the Scale than Mount Uhud.”
