Takhrij Hadith 1816: "“O Abu al-Mundhir, do you…"

“O Abu al-Mundhir, do you know which verse from the Book of Allah that you have is the greatest?” I said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said: “O Abu al-Mundhir, do you know which verse from the Book of Allah that you have is the greatest?” I said: “{Allah—there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, the All-Sustaining.}” He then struck me on the chest and said: “By Allah, may knowledge be pleasant for you, O Abu al-Mundhir!”
