Whenever ʿAbdullah ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both) sat in the prayer, he would place his hands on his knees, point with his finger, and follow it with his gaze. Then he said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘It is harder upon Satan than iron.”’ He meant the index finger.
