Takhrij Hadith 1918: "The master supplication for seeking…"

The master supplication for seeking forgiveness is to say: “Allāhumma anta rabbi la ilāha illa anta khalaqtani wa ana ‘abduk wa ana ‘ala ‘ahdika wa wa‘dika mastata‘t a‘ūdhu bika min sharri ma sana‘t abū’u laka bini‘matika ‘alayya wa abū’u laka bidhanbi faghfir li fa innahu la yaghfiru adh-dhunūba illa anta (O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity worthy of worship except You. You created me, and I am Your servant. I remain faithful to my covenant with You and Your promise to You as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge before You Your blessings upon me, and I acknowledge before You my sin. So forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.)” He said: “Whoever says this during the day, firmly believing in it, and dies before evening, will be among the people of Paradise. And whoever says it during the night, firmly believing in it, and dies before morning, will be among the people of Paradise.”
