The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a funeral procession and said: “He is either one who has found rest, or one from whom others have found rest.” They asked: “O Messenger of Allah, what does ‘one who has found rest’ and ‘one from whom others have found rest’ mean?” He said: “The believing servant finds rest from the hardships and suffering of this world, having gone on to the mercy of Allah. As for the wicked servant, people, lands, trees, and animals find rest from him.”
