Takhrij Hadith 1979: "Shall I not give you…"

Shall I not give you a gift? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out to us, and we said: “O Messenger of Allah, we have learned how to greet you with peace, but how should we send blessings upon you?” He said: “Say: O Allah, bestow Your grace upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad just as You bestowed Your grace upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.”
