Takhrij Hadith 2134: "When the death of the…"
‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘As (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“
When the death of the Prophet of Allah, Nūḥ (Noah, peace be upon him), approached, he said to his son: "I shall give you my final advice. I command you to do two things and forbid you from doing two things. I command you to say: "Lā ilāha illā Allah (There is no god worthy of worship except Allah)" for if the seven heavens and the seven earths were placed on one side of a scale, and "Lā ilāha illā Allāh" were placed on the other side, the latter would outweigh them. And if the seven heavens and the seven earths were a closed ring, "Lā ilāha illā Allah" would shatter them. And I command you to say: "Subḥāna Allahi wa biḥamdih (Glory be to Allah and all praise belongs to Him)" for it is the prayer of all things, and through it creation is provided with sustenance. And I forbid you from associating partners with Allah and from arrogance.””
