Takhrij Hadith 2143: "We said: "O Messenger of…"
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
“
We said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), why is it that when we are with you, our hearts soften, we become detached from worldly life, and we feel as though we are among the people of the Hereafter, but when we leave you, spend time with our families, and smell our children, we find ourselves changed?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you were to remain in that same state when you left me, the angels would visit you in your homes. And if you did not commit sins, Allah would bring forth a new creation so that they would commit sins and He would forgive them." He [Abu Hurayrah] said: "I asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, from what were created beings created?' He replied: 'From water.' I asked: 'What is Paradise built from?' He replied: 'A brick of silver and a brick of gold. Its mortar is intensely fragrant musk, its pebbles are pearls and rubies, and its soil is saffron. Whoever enters it will enjoy bliss and never suffer hardship, will abide therein forever and never die. Their garments will never wear out, and their youth will never fade.' Then he said: 'There are three whose supplications are not rejected: a just ruler, a fasting person when breaking his fast, and the supplication of the oppressed. It rises above the clouds, and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and the Lord, the Almighty and Majestic, says: "By My Might, I will surely grant you victory, even if it is after some time."’”
