Takhrij Hadith 236: "I have been commanded to…"

I have been commanded to fight against the people until they testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establish the prayer, and give the zakah [obligatory charity]. If they do that, they will have protected from me their blood and their wealth except by the right of Islam, and their reckoning is with Allah.
