Takhrij Hadith 292: "Al-Hasan was the son of…"

Al-Hasan was the son of a servant-woman belonging to Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ. Umm Salama once sent her servant-girl on an errand, and al-Hasan began to cry intensely. Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, felt compassion for him, so she took him and placed him in her lap, then put her breast in his mouth, and milk flowed from it, so he drank from it. It used to be said that the degree of wisdom attained by al-Hasan was due to the milk he drank from Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ.
