Takhrij Hadith 294: "Whenever a deceased person from…"

Whenever a deceased person from a household dies, and they give charity on his behalf after his death, Jibril, peace be upon him, delivers it to him upon a tray of light. Then he stands at the edge of the grave and says: “O occupant of the deep grave, this is a gift sent to you by your family, so accept it”. He then enters upon him, and he rejoices in it and receives glad tidings because of it, while his neighboring dead grieve because nothing has been gifted to them.
