Takhrij Hadith 344: "A man asked the Messenger…"

A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the night prayer, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: “The night prayer is offered two raka’at followed by two raka’at and so on, and whoever among you fears the approach of dawn, he should pray a single rak'ah, which will make odd (witr) what he has already prayed”.
