Takhrij Hadith 357: "A Jewish man said to…"

A Jewish man said to him: “O Commander of the Faithful! There is a verse in your Book that you recite; if it had been revealed to us, the community of Jews, we would have taken that day [on which it was revealed ] as a day of celebration” ‘Umar asked: “Which verse?” He replied: {Today I have perfected your faith for you, completed My favour upon you, and chosen Islam as your way.}”. ‘Umar said: “We certainly know that day and the place where it was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ: he was standing at ‘Arafah on a Friday”.
