‌ A man came to the prophet ﷺ and asked him :”which deeds are the best?”. The messenger of Allah ﷺ replied : “the prayer”. The man asked : “And then what?”. He said: “the prayer”. The man asked again : “And then what?”. He said : "the prayer_repeating it three times". When the man persisted [with his questioning], the messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Striving (Jihad) in the cause of Allah”. The man said : “But I have parents”. The messenger of Allah ﷺ said : “I command you to treat your parents with excellence”. The man said: “By the One Who sent you with the truth as a prophet; I shall certainly go out to strive and leave them?”. The messenger of Allah ﷺ said : “You know best [your own circumstances]” .
