Takhrij Hadith 374: "The Messenger of Allah (peace…"

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to inform the people about [the date of] the Night of al-Qadr, but a quarrel happened between two Muslim men. So he said: “I came out to inform you about the Night of al-Qadr, but because so-and-so and so-and-so quarreled, its knowledge was taken away. Perhaps that is better for you. Therefore seek it in the seventh, the ninth, and the fifth [of the last ten nights of Ramadan]”.
