On the authority of Anas from the prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) who said :
“
The lifespans of all animals including lice, fleas, locusts, horses, mules, cattle and others are determined by their glorification of Allah. When their glorification ends, Allah takes their souls, and the Angel of death has nothing to do with that.
