Takhrij Hadith 440: "Jibril came to me and…"

Jibril came to me and said: “I came to you last night, but nothing prevented me from entering except that there were statues at the door, a curtain in the house containing images, and a dog in the house. Therefore, order that the head of the statue in the house be cut off so that it becomes like a tree, and order that the curtain be cut up and made into two cushions that may be used and sat upon, and order that the dog be taken out”. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did so. The dog, which belonged to al-Hasan or al-Husayn, was found beneath a daybed of theirs, so he commanded that it be taken out”.
