Takhrij Hadith 443: "Jibril descended to the Prophet…"
Anas ibn Malik narrated:
“
Jibril descended to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “Mu'awiyah ibn Mu'awiyah al-Laythi has died. Would you like to offer the funeral prayer for him?” He replied: “Yes”. Then Jibril struck the earth with his wing, and there was not a tree or a hill except that it shook and moved aside. He then raised his bier, and the Prophet ﷺ looked at him and pronounced the takbir over him in prayer. Behind him were two rows of angels, and in each row were seventy thousand angels. The Prophet ﷺ said: “O Jibril, by what deed did he attain this rank with Allah?” He replied: “Through his love for Surat al-Ikhlas (Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad) and his frequent recitation of it while coming and going, standing and sitting, and in every state”.”
