Takhrij Hadith 464: "A man came to the…"
Wathilah narrated:
“
A man came to the Prophet ﷺ who was bald-headed, cross-eyed, short-necked, club-footed, flat-nosed, left-handed, weak-jointed, and bow-legged. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, inform me of what Allah has obligated upon me." When the Prophet informed him, the man said: "I make a covenant with Allah that I will never do anything beyond the obligatory deeds." The Prophet asked: "And why is that?" He replied: "Because He created me bald-headed, cross-eyed, short-necked, club-footed, flat-nosed, left-handed, weak-jointed, and bow-legged." Then the man turned and left. Jibril (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet and said: "O Muhammad, where is the one who was reproaching his Lord? He reproached a Generous Lord, and so his Lord has granted him his favor." Jibril then said: "Tell him: Would it not please you to be resurrected on the Day of Judgment in the form of Jibril ?" So the Prophet ﷺ sent for the man and said to him: "You reproached a Generous Lord, and He has granted you His favor. Would it not please you that Allah resurrects you on the Day of Judgment in the form of Jibril?" The man replied: "Of course, O Messenger of Allah!" Then he said: "I make a covenant with Allah that as long as my body has the strength for anything that pleases Allah, I will surely undertake it".”
