Takhrij Hadith 482: "Nothing caused me any doubt…"

Nothing caused me any doubt in my heart after I embraced Islam except that I recited a verse in one way, while another man recited it differently from my recitation. So we went to the Prophet ﷺ. I said: "Did you teach me such-and-such a verse?" He said: "Yes." Then the other man said: "Did you not teach me such-and-such a verse?" He said: “Yes. Jibril and Mikail came to me. Jibril sat on my right and Mikail on my left. Jibril said: "Recite the Qur'an in one mode." Mikail said: "Ask for more." He continued to ask for more until it reached seven modes, all of which are sufficient and acceptable”.
