Takhrij Hadith 548: "A servant from among the…"

A servant from among the servants of Allah was commanded to receive one hundred lashes in his grave. He continued to plead and supplicate until they were reduced to a single lash. So he was struck with one lash, and his grave was filled with fire around him. When its effect was lifted from him, he said: “Why did you lash me?” They replied: “Because you once performed a prayer without purification, and you passed by a person who had been wronged and did not help him”.
