Takhrij Hadith 566: "Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will…"
Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“
Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will say on the Day of Resurrection: ‘O Adam!’ He will reply: ‘At Your service, our Lord, and all goodness is in Your Hands.’ Then a call will be made in a voice: ‘Indeed, Allah commands you to bring forth from your descendants a contingent for the Fire.’ Adam will say: ‘My Lord, what is the contingent for the Fire?’ He will say: ‘Out of every thousand’—I think he said—‘nine hundred and ninety-nine.’ At that moment, every pregnant woman will miscarry, every child will turn gray-haired, {And you will see people ˹as if they were˺ drunk, though they will not be drunk; but the torment of Allah is ˹terribly˺ severe. }. This weighed heavily upon the people until their faces changed. Thereupon, the Prophet ﷺ said: “From Gog and Magog will be nine hundred and ninety-nine, and from you, one. Then, among mankind, you will be like a black hair on the side of a white bull, or like a white hair on the side of a black bull. And I indeed hope that you will constitute one-quarter of the people of Paradise.’ So we proclaimed the takbir. Then he said: ‘One-third of the people of Paradise,’ and we proclaimed the takbir. Then he said: ‘One-half of the people of Paradise,’ and we proclaimed the takbir.”
