Takhrij Hadith 567: "We were with the Prophet…"
On the authority of ‘Adullah ibn Mas’ud :
“
We were with the Prophet ﷺ in a tent, and he said: “Would you be pleased to be one-quarter of the people of Paradise?” We replied: “Yes”. He then said: “Would you be pleased to be one-third of the people of Paradise?” We replied: “Yes”. He then said: “Would you be pleased to be half of the people of Paradise?” We replied: “Yes”. He said: “By Him in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, I indeed hope that you will constitute half of the people of Paradise. That is because none shall enter Paradise except a Muslim soul, and among the people of polytheism you are like a white hair on the hide of a black bull, or like a black hair on the hide of a red bull”.”
