Takhrij Hadith 606: "“O Messenger of Allah, I…"
ʿUbayd Allah ibn ʿAbdullah reported from a man among the Ansar that he brought a black slave woman and said :
“
“O Messenger of Allah, I am required to free a believing slave. If you consider this woman to be a believer, I will set her free”. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: “Do you testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah?” She replied: “Yes”. He said: “Do you testify that I am the Messenger of Allah?” She replied: “Yes” He said: “Do you believe in resurrection after death?” She replied: “Yes”. He said: “Then set her free”.”
