Takhrij Hadith 610: "Saʿd ibn ʿUbadah said: “If…"
Al-Mughirah narrated:
“
Saʿd ibn ʿUbadah said: “If I were to see a man with my wife, I would strike him with my sword, using its sharp edge and not its flat side”. When this reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: Are you astonished by Saʿd’s jealousy? By Allah, I am more jealous than he is, and Allah is more jealous than I am. Because of Allah’s jealousy, He has forbidden all immoral deeds, both open and secret. There is no one who loves to accept excuses more than Allah; that is why He sent the bearers of glad tidings and the warners. And there is no one who loves to be praised more than Allah; that is why Allah promised Paradise .”
