Takhrij Hadith 634: "He entered upon Anas ibn…"
On the authority of al-‘Alaʾ ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman:
“
He entered upon Anas ibn Malik in his house in Basra after he had returned from the Zuhr prayer. His house was next to the mosque. When we entered, he asked: "Have you prayed the ‘Asr prayer?" We replied: "We have only just returned from the Zuhr prayer". He said: "Then pray the ‘Asr prayer". So we stood and prayed. When we had finished, he said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: That is the prayer of the hypocrite; He sits watching the sun until, when it is between the two horns of Satan, he rises and pecks out four (rakʿahs), remembering Allah in them only a little".”
