Takhrij Hadith 654: "Two men from my tribe…"

Two men from my tribe came with me to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). They addressed him and spoke to him, hinting that they wished to be appointed to a position of authority. The Prophet's face changed, and displeasure became apparent on it. He then said: "Indeed, the most untrustworthy among you in my sight is the one who seeks it. So hold fast to the fear of Allah, the Mighty and Exalted". Abu Musa said: He did not appoint either of them to any position.
