On the authority of ‘Ady ibn Hatim, who said:

“

We said: "O Messenger of Allah, we are not asking you about obeying one who fears Allah and acts righteously. Rather, we are asking about one who does this and that"—mentioning evil deeds. He replied: "Fear Allah, and listen and obey ".
