Takhrij Hadith 679: "I heard the Messenger of…"
On the authority of Abu Umamah, who said:
“
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressing the people during the Farewell Pilgrimage while he was riding al-Jadʿāʾ (his she-camel). He had his foot placed in the stirrup of the saddle and was stretching upward as he spoke, saying: “Can you hear me? A man from the back of the crowd replied: “What are you saying?” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Worship your Lord, perform your five daily prayers, fast your month (of Ramadan), pay the zakah on your wealth, and obey those in authority over you, and you will enter the Paradise of your Lord”. I asked him: “Since when have you been hearing this hadith, O Abu Umamah?” He replied: “I was thirty years old when I heard it”.”
