The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on the Day of ‘Ashura, and he said: 'Go to your people and command them to fast on this day.' He [Asma’] said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I do not think I will reach them until they have already eaten.' He said: 'Then command whoever among them has eaten to fast the remainder of the day.
