On the authority of ‘Abd al-Hamid ibn Mahmud, who said:

“

I prayed alongside Anas ibn Malik on a Friday, and we were pushed toward the columns, so we stepped forward and stepped back. Anas then said: "We used to avoid this during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)" .
